Set Your Sail

This is the time like no other to know who you are created to be. Today’s blog, Set Your Sail, offers resources and encouragement to sail into your calling with passion.

There is no other unique you, but you must know your design and trust the Ultimate Designer, God, so that you sail into the waters only you can fulfill.

2018 holds great opportunities for us to use our God given gifts and strengths. As believers in Christ, we were given a spiritual gift or gifts that Jesus gave us at his ascension.

“When he ascended on high he led a host of captives and he gave gifts to men.. And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the shepherds and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God… we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head  Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” Eph. 4:8-13;15-16

It is our job to know how God designed us.  He gave believers this spiritual gift to truly be an active vibrant part of the body of Christ, the Bride- His church at large and serving in the local church of our community.  We have a unique part of the body that no one else can fill.   God gives us the power to be His witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has upon you and you will by my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.’ Acts 1:8

Our Jerusalem is our family, Judea- our community, church and our Samaria- global church- missions, needs outside our borders.

Once we know our spiritual gift, we can act on it with His divine power within us.  This season, I am currently participating in Prime Movers, Chip Ingram’s material equipping leaders to walk out their holy ambition, with three incredible godly women.  In this group, I have rediscovered my spiritual gift of exhortation and strengths – empathy, strategic, woo, communication and positivity.  The timing is now for us to truly be an active part of the body of Christ not wasting time on this earth floundering and not knowing our true design.

Do you know your spiritual gift and strengths?  If so, awesome, but if not here are two links to discover your gift(s) and strengths.

I am seeking God to reveal and move me to my part of the body in my local church and community.  I would love for you to tell me your spiritual gift and strengths and we can pray for one another this 2018 to Set our sails in the course He has planned for us.  We must trust our Designer that he desires us to walk out boldly, passionately, trusting our God in our unique giftedness.

My word this year is joy and my verse that I quoted in my previous blog, is:

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless towards him.”

2 Chronicles 16:9

My desire to be faithful in my walk knowing my gift and strengths using them for eternal purposes.  As believers, it is so neat to know we are a body, needing one another so that we can be in unity doing God’s work.  On this journey this year, we will have set backs where we sin and fall short, but don’t stay there.  Keep moving towards God, he is steadfast and faithful providing strength and His love.
