God’s Glory is all around us; His creation offers beautiful aromas. This past Easter our hearts were reminded of the ultimate offering that left us the fragrant aroma of Hope in Jesus.

As we observe the gorgeous flowers, green grass and foliage this Spring, take in the smells!!
Breathe it in.. Breathe deeper..
Breathe the aromas as you walk the neighborhood around your home, or through a trail, or in a garden. Jesus gave us this beautiful season of spring to remind of new birth, both in nature and spiritually.
His glory is everywhere; we can’t escape it. May the God of the Universe be praised for giving us His Son. By the work of Jesus, we receive the third part of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells in us, leading us as new creations in Christ.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Cor. 5:17

As new creatures, we can be imitators of God, looking at each day as an opportunity to leave a fragrant offering to God. Jesus gave His life as a sacrificial offering to God. He desires our lives to imitate His life.
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2
Let God's Light Shine Through You Photo by Sharon Moye
God designed us in our Mother’s womb with these purposes.
“Man’s chief end is to Glorify God and to enjoy Him forever” (Westminster Shorter Catechism),
“Love Your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind …” You shall love you neighbor as yourself” Matthew 22:37-38
He breathed life in us to make His name great, leaving a fragrant aroma behind.
What scent do we leave behind each day? Do we smell pleasing, or do we “stinketh” (King James Version.)
My favorite perfume is Blackberry Bay by .. It is soft, pleasing..

As children of God, we are to emit the aroma of the fruits of the spirit- love, joy peace, patience kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
How do we live purposeful lives with a beautiful scent everywhere we go?
Paul encourages us to be filled daily by surrendering to His Spirit. We are confidently sealed with the Holy Spirit, but we need a daily filling.
How? Begin each day reading God’s word:
Reflect on these four C’s
Cross- Emptied Himself
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” Phil. 2: 5-8
Cave- Empty tomb- Without the resurrection we wouldn’t have forgiveness and life eternal-
After the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene, Mary and Salome went to anoint Jesus’ body with spices and were wondering who would roll back the stone in front of Jesus’ tomb… “And looking up, they saw that the stone had rolled back- it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. And he said to them, “do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee.” Mark 16:4-7
Comforter- Enters our heart when we Believe in Jesus Jesus tells the disciples before he ascends to Heaven,
“I will ask the Father and he will give you another helper who will be with you forever. That helper is the Spirit of Truth.” John 14: 16-17
Conversation- Engage with the Spirit by Abiding in Him-
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away, behold, new things have come. “ 2 Cor. 5:17
Walking with God daily is abiding in Him which means confessing sins, renewing our mind, trusting, obeying and believing in His path.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
The Holy Spirit will open our eyes and guide us through the day leaving a fragrant aroma everywhere we go. Because we are filled with his Spirit; His aroma lingers and is pleasing in God’s sight. Just as Jesus gave himself up for a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God, we imitate Christ’s love for his Father by offering our lives to be His fragrant aroma.
What fragrance is your favorite? I would love to know! As you spray your favorite perfume or
light your soy candle, remember to let His aroma be pleasing to others.
Much love and Happy Spring!
"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
