“Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving,
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs
of praise.” Psalm 95:2
This past Sunday my family and I were reunited with Bekah, who many of you know
went on the World Race, sponsored by Adventures in Missions. She traveled to
eleven countries in eleven months.. Bekah launched last January with her team to
South Africa –Botswana –Madagascar - Vietnam –Cambodia - Thailand – Malaysia- Nicaragua- Honduras-El Salvador- and Guatemala…
We anticipated her arrival at the Atlanta airport with excitement and joy. Not only would
we see some of her other team members at the airport upon arrival, but we would be embracing her and her fiancé, Josh Davis..(She met her love on the race!)

Over the past eleven months, we have supported Bekah with love, tears and joy, cheering her on to finish the race. This beautiful reunion is only a taste of what it will be like when we, those who believe in Jesus, are reunited with all the saints in heaven.
‘Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
Bekah and her fiancé, Josh were engaged in Guatemala, their last country on the race. It is amazing to think they took a year of their life to serve and love others in eleven countries. We are so proud of them and their step of faith in this journey they will never forget. There will be a lot of stories to share over time. Just like Bekah and her team, we are all running a race here in this world until we are called home. We have the opportunity to encounter God daily by serving Him wherever He Leads us.
I look forward to gathering around our dining table over a meal or gathering in the den
hearing the God stories of miracles, joy, sorrows and rejoicing with Bekah and Josh at all God did through and with them. This is what it will be like in Heaven when we are reunited with the saints-family members who walked with Jesus as well as all the godly men and women we read about in the Bible.
We will be gathering tomorrow around tables, playing games and enjoying lots conversations celebrating Thanksgiving together. Reunited with a lot of friends and family, some who we don’t see much during the year. As we share life and stories, we will be filled with joy – rejoicing with our friends and family in all that God has done through and with us.
I am praying for you all tomorrow; May God be glorified through you for Thanksgiving as well as the remainder of this year!

Think about this scripture tomorrow as we gather together,
“Be Kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
It might be your love to a friend or family member that turns his or her heart to God…
Reunite and Rejoice
