Draw Near to God…..
Amazingly, we have the opportunity to draw near to God. The veil has been torn; we can go into the throne room of grace to commune with our God.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near the to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Our high priest is Jesus. We can come to him anywhere, anytime. The High Priest before Jesus was the supreme religious leader of the Israelites. Aaron was the High Priest for the Israelites when they were led out of Egypt with Moses into the wilderness. The High Priests were to without defects and holy in conduct. They offered a sin offering for himself as well as the whole congregation. One day a year the High Priest was allowed to enter the Holy Place behind the veil, the Holy of Holies. The Priest had many duties and responsibilities representing God and offering up sacrifices to bring healing, purity and cleansing for the people of God.
“But the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of my sanctuary when the sons of Israel went astray from me, shall come near to me to minister to me and they shall stand before me to offer me the fat and the blood, declares the Lord God.” Ezekiel 44:15
As I read the Old testament, I am so thankful for Jesus. It is not necessary for me to go to a human High Priest and for him to offer up my sins and concerns to God. I have a High Priest named Jesus who I can run into his Throne room offering up praise, my concerns and sins..
We can draw near…
Now, we have the perfect lamb, Jesus who gave His to life to pay the debt once and for all.
Jesus being the perfect Lamb without defects took our sin, so we can draw near…
Saying that, I can picture Francis Chan, an amazing Christian speaker and writer, standing on stage saying, “Do we get it? We get to to draw near the King and enter the Holy of Holies. We have the opportunity to enter into His presence and be forgiven. We can draw near.. just like that..Draw Near to King of the Universe and have a conversation. Wow.. I am so thankful we have this privilege, but I need to understand the cost Jesus paid and be in awe and reverence..
I get to draw near.. just got chills.. we get to draw near.. the King of Kings and he cares…
Jesus, who was with God in the beginning. He is the Word. He became flesh and dwelt among us. He never committed any sin, was hated and spit on, despised by his own. Yet, wanting to complete the mission His Father sent Him on was obedient to death. We who believe and trust that he died for us, once and for all can have fellowship and Draw Near…
“For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things can never, by same sacrifices which they (Priests) offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near… He, (Jesus) takes away the first (the law) in order to establish the second (grace.) By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." Hebrews 10:1;10
“The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon in truth. “Ps. 145:18
As we draw near to the High Priest, the living water, The Tree of Life.. Abide in the branch of the living tree by drawing near the High Priest that gives life, joy, forgiveness..
In our journey of life there are a lot of moving parts going on.. We all have our desires, concerns and needs….Enter into his throne room with all your praises and concerns. We don’t serve a King that doesn’t sympathize with our weaknesses..
Go boldly and draw near…
He is waiting for us to draw near.. I need Him; his words, strength and guidance.. I want more…more of Him.. We can’t have more of Him if we don’t draw near..
"So Jesus said to them again, Truly truly I say to you, I am the door of the sheep." John 10:7

"So, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door."
