In my reading of God’s word this morning, this scripture jumped out at me.
“Now, set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God. Arise and Build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God may be brought into a house built for the name of the Lord.”
I Chronicles 22:19
King David was not called to build the house of the Lord. It was David’s son, Solomon, who God desired to build the Temple. God told David he had shed too much blood. God loved David and David was called “a man after God’s heart.” God allowed David to make the preparations for His Temple before he passed. But it was King Solomon and all of his skilled workers who built the beautiful sanctuary for the Lord.

I was reminded by the Holy Spirit that we, the believers in Jesus, are living temples. We hold the most precious gift, the Holy Spirit in our bodies. We have the privilege to have the Holy Spirit and His Imputed Righteousness dwell in us every moment.
“… and who also put his seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”
2 Corinthians 1:22
I want us to just ponder this.. the Holy Spirit, abiding within us…
“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s spirit dwells in your midst.”
I Corinthians 3:16
We are God’s building! Uniquely made, each one of us called to serve and Glorify God. Jesus is the foundation, the cornerstone. We must arise and help build His Church with passion and purpose.
As we seek the Lord, setting our minds and hearts on Jesus, we ready ourselves daily for His work. Our citizenship is placed in Heaven. We want to live with such passion, knowing His spirit is alive and well in us. Just as Solomon placed the beautiful pieces of gold and silver that his father, David, had collected into the completed temple, this is like us depositing the good works He has for us into the Kingdom of God. Wow, what a privilege we have to bear fruit and make eternal investments.
“His divine Power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”
2 Peter 1:3-4
God has given us His power to Love, serve, rejoice in hope, to prayer, to bless, to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those that weep, not to be haughty, never be wise in your own eyes, not repaying evil with evil, live peaceable with all as far as it depends on us, feed the hungry, give the thirsty something to drink, don’t be overcome with evil and be subject to the governing authorities because they have been instituted by God.

God requires a lot of us, but He given us everything.. We have the Holy Spirt living in our earthly temples. We have Freedom in Him to worship Him daily in Spirit and Truth. As we serve in our body, this is our spiritual worship..
“Arise and work! The Lord be with you!”

Next week, we will look at the Freedom we have in this country because of the sacrificial cost of those who fought and died on our behalf. Freedom comes with a cost and we will look at ways as believers to support America and its future.
