All the Grains of Sand

March 16, 2016

I truly lift my hands to God and praise Him for my three adult children, Rachel and her husband, Dimitri, Bekah, Michael and my sweet little grandbaby, Penelope.  They are all gifts of God and I hold them carefully and lovingly in my hands; because they are God’s gifts. I never can hold them too tight but preciously as a true gift from God.

Oh, how I love these children of mine all the grains of sand.

They are walking with Jesus which is a beautiful thing to watch.  God gave them to me to nourish and train in the ways of the Lord.  Then, to go into the world to Glorify God with the talents God gave them.   My children are on their own journey with God.  God is directing their steps.  He is Sovereign and in control- all the time!  We all have our own journey to take with God. We may turn and take wrong paths but God is in control of that path, too.  He is God.  We learn from our wrong turns and God directs us back! It is all a journey!

In the book of Romans, Paul lets us know that ….”for those who love God, all things work together for those that are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

My middle daughter, Bekah, who I have shared about in a former blog, chose to go on a Mission trip for eleven months.  If you missed the swan dive from Victoria Falls; go and watch it in Blog 2, Living Free.  Amazing..   Anyway, when Bekah told Mike, my husband and me that she decided to apply for the World Race I was excited, but a bit nervous.  Truly, one of my thoughts was, “Why, God, does Bekah have to go all around the world to find you and get closer to you..?”  Our family has taken many short mission trips – but not long trips.. Another thought, “Can’t Bekah get close to you, God, here?”  God clearly answered that question for me.

It says in the book of Matthew,

“And everyone who has left houses, or brothers or sister or father or mother or children or property for my name’s sake will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.” Matthew 19:29

Well, there was my answer!! God moved Bekah’s heart to go – in His name - and everything was orchestrated.  Money raised.. Preparation began.. Hearts changing.. Launch Happened January 10, 2016.  Bekah is on a journey with God bigger than I could have imagined..

You know, she is sharing the good news, receiving a hundredfold from God.. Never underestimate what God is doing with our children.. He loves them..  God’s timing is not our timing.   I am so proud of her… Saying yes to His nudge.. Bekah is glorifying God, learning about herself and letting God lead her…

We are all on journey, Listen to God’s voice and love others all the grains of sand!!!
