Deep Deep down every person wants to be loved. We search and desire love daily. Over a lifetime we have had a sphere of influence speaking good or bad nutrients into our soul. These words and actions people say or don’t say develop who we think we are in this world.
It wasn’t until I turned 48 that I realized my true identity. I knew I was loved by God, my husband and family, but it was the lies I believed about myself that formed a false identity. Thankfully through wise counsel, I walked through my past and forgave others as well as myself. If we don’t let God weed out our past hurts, and forgive ourselves and others we live a very defensive life. You don’t see clearly because your view of yourself is tainted. You are not living in the truth of God's word. The truth is. as a believer in Christ, you are a new creation.
Some people don’t even know they are living stuck. They live in bitterness, anger, depression, defensiveness, have addictions, lots of fleshly manifestations of not living free in Christ. When you have Christ in your life, we have been set free from bondage.. He becomes your identity.
You are a new creation in Him
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold the new has come.” II Corinthians 5:17
If we know the Truth in the Bible that we are loved by a loving Father who pursues us; we can live a life of true freedom. The first step of the living in that freedom is believing the truth. God truly sent His son; Jesus came to set the captive free.
The enemy, Satan, would love to keep us stuck and believing that we are unworthy. He whispers lies to us. But, God has a plan for you, to live free, not stuck in shame. Knowing how God views me, and trusting in His steadfast love for me has changed my life dramatically.
Take time to search your soul, and ask yourself, “Am I living free? Do I live fully alive in Christ?” Ask the Lord to reveal to you any unforgiveness, past hurts, or shame… Cry out to God and ask for forgiveness and let God heal your hearts.. and allow God to pour His love into your soul. Don’t live defensively being the victim, but victorious in Christ.
God came to set the Captives free indeed…
Isaiah 61: 1 “ The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor, he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”
My middle daughter, Bekah, left in January to go on the World Race which is traveling to 11 different countries doing mission work in each of the countries. A week after she left, I felt prompted to begin work on this blog. I have had a ministry vision for about two years, so the blog is the beginning of this vision. I am excited to see how God works in both of our lives while we live boldly for our King!! You will be hearing about my other young adult children and granddaughter as well. They are amazing, too.. Today, you will witness my middle daughter living in free abandonment.. No fear.. Just living.. I am amazed..
