Thank you for visiting my blog.  May all the glory go to God for moving my heart to share my story and weekly insights that I receive from God’s spirit that dwells in me.

I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. A beautiful loving couple adopted me in Decatur and gave me a life which God orchestrated before the foundations of the world.  I could not have had any better parents. Mike, my husband and I met at a church in Decatur. We have three adult children, Rachel, Bekah and Michael as well as two son in laws, Dimitri and Josh, a beautiful new daughter in law, Elizabeth and two precious granddaughters, Penelope and Eleanora.  My heart is overflowing every time I think of God’s goodness.

Education is my background, I have taught third, second and Kindergarten in DeKalb county and a private Christian school. While teaching Kindergarten, I had the opportunity to love and encourage and exhort the moms of my students.  Discipling young women has been a passion of mine for years.  Mike, my husband and I met as counselors of the youth program of our childhood church.  I also had the opportunity of discipling 8th grade girls,  led groups of women studying God’s word in Bible Study Fellowship and Discipleship groups.

This passion for women has grown into a ministry wrapped around the Bible verse in the book of Isaiah:

Isaiah 61

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God , to comfort all who mourn, to grant to those who mourn in Zion , to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified..”

My blog, Garment of Praise, will hopefully encourage and inspire all women to truly know they are loved by a good Father in heaven.
